Speed and quality don’t have to be mutually exclusive. For Levi’s, we hired 11 high-quality salespeople in just 14 days. And this despite the fact that the contracts were only for two months – typically a challenge when motivating applicants. Out of 267 candidates, we carefully selected the best to represent a premium brand. What exactly did the recruitment process look like?

What recruitment challenge did the client bring to us?

The retail segment is known for high employee turnover up to 40% annually. This instability complicates workforce planning and puts constant pressure on store managers. They must simultaneously address staff shortages, hit sales targets, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain brand standards.

For premium brands like Levi’s, the quality of the sales team directly impacts store performance. Each associate must not only serve customers but also represent the brand’s values and history, offer expert guidance, and create the right atmosphere for a discerning clientele. Finding such individuals quickly is a significant challenge.

Levi’s found itself facing three simultaneous personnel crises in its Prague stores:

  • Fashion Arena:
    Weekend shift gaps.
    Needed 4 salespeople for key high-revenue days.
  • Na Příkopě (1):
    Urgent filling of 3 sales positions.
    Priority: maintaining smooth operations and service quality.
  • Na Příkopě (2):
    4 salespeople on two-month contracts.
    Premium location still required high-quality staff despite short-term nature.

What does a digital hiring process mean?

When Levi’s needed to quickly and effectively fill key roles, we opted for a digital recruitment process. Traditional methods involving in-person meetings, paperwork, and slow communication simply wouldn’t meet the urgency. So we implemented a complete digital solution:

  • A specialized recruiter team handled sourcing.
  • All interviews were conducted via video call.
  • Documentation was signed electronically.
  • Communication with the client happened in real time.

This setup allowed SYNERGIE to present the first candidates within 24 hours of receiving the request.

Speed doesn’t compromise quality

Out of 267 potential candidates, our team conducted prescreening calls with 76. We then held 40 video interviews with the most promising ones. SYNERGIE selected 24 to present to the client. Levi’s invited 19 for second-round interviews and ultimately hired 11 sales assistants.

In addition to sales assistants, the S&you division also helped fill a managerial position. The quality of the selection process was evident here as well: hiring for this leadership role was strategically important for the client, as the store manager is responsible for the performance of the entire team, adherence to brand standards, and the overall business results of the store.
