Case Study from the Philippines: How We Secured 20 Top Welders in 7 Days

Hiring 15 highly qualified welders on the Czech market took the client one year. That’s why they turned to us – the lack of skilled workers had become unsustainable. We chose a targeted recruitment campaign in the Philippines. Here’s how it went and what results we achieved.
Impossible Immediately, Miracles on Demand?
That’s how the task might have seemed at first glance – the client needed to hire up to 80 highly qualified welders within one (maximum one and a half) year.
However, the reality of the Czech labor market is different – such candidates are simply missing. Applicants often lack the required level of experience this specialized profession demands. For the client, recruitment had become an increasingly pressing issue. Without sufficient workforce capacity, there was a risk they wouldn’t be able to handle existing orders or take on new ones.
“The client invested considerable resources into marketing and recruitment, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet their expectations. Local candidates lacked the required quality, and the offered conditions weren’t attractive enough. That’s why the client decided to meet with us to discuss the details of how international recruitment works,” explains Michal Červinka, Business Development Specialist.
The Goal Wasn’t Just to “Find People,” but to Build a Team
As a strategic partner, we proposed a targeted recruitment solution from the Philippines. Our goal wasn’t just to “find people,” but to build a team that would meet the client’s exceptionally high standards.
“From the very beginning, we set a clear rule: the key was for the client to personally select specific candidates in the Philippines who would meet their exact requirements. We wanted to ensure that each person had not only the technical skills but also exceptional quality,” adds Michal.
How Did the Recruitment Process Work?
- Pre-selection: Based on a detailed analysis of the client’s criteria, we prepared a shortlist of 80 candidates.
- Online screening: After online interviews, language tests, and technical knowledge tests (including reading WPS documentation), we selected the 35 best candidates.
- On-site testing in Manila: We organized final practical exams directly in the Philippines. The client’s welding engineer traveled with us to Manila to personally oversee testing at a welding school.
- Tailored testing: We designed tests exactly according to the standards used in the client’s Czech production site. 35 workers successfully met these conditions.
“The positions we were filling were very specific. We always travel abroad for interviews to personally select candidates. In this case, the client joined us to ensure the candidates met his high expectations,” describes Michal.

The Client Selected 20 Welders in One Week
Out of the 35 tested workers, the client ultimately chose 20 top welders to strengthen their team. The entire process took only one week.
“The client’s requirements for welding skills were truly high. We carried out the initial screening remotely, but it was only during the on-site visit in the Philippines that we saw which candidates met the strict criteria.
The client chose 20 people they were confident could perform the job as expected. It wasn’t about selecting whoever was available – each of these 20 individuals was carefully chosen based on qualifications and technical competence that matched the client’s needs,” clarifies Michal.
Recruitment on the Czech market: The company needed one year and 60 interviews to hire 15 people.

We Look for Potential, Not Just “Hands and Feet”
We bring companies people with skills, motivation, and long-term potential – and this case proves it.
Thanks to on-site recruitment, the client was able to get to know not only the candidates’ professional profiles but also their environment, culture, and values – even before their arrival in the Czech Republic. This step is crucial for their successful adaptation to a new environment.
But our work doesn’t end upon arrival. We help candidates integrate into their new teams and settle into everyday life – in a country that differs from the Philippines not only by language but also by lifestyle, communication style, and cultural habits. Thanks to this support, they stay motivated and remain long-term.
